As a Cub Team Member, you’ll be part of a supportive volunteer team helping to deliver fun, safe and engaging activities that give young people opportunities to develop skills for life. Whether it’s helping run games, supporting badge activities, assisting on camps, or encouraging young people to try something new, you’ll play an important role in creating a fantastic Cub Scout experience.
What does the role involve?
A Cub Team Member works alongside the Cub Team Leader and other volunteers to provide an exciting and inclusive programme for Cub Scouts. You’ll help deliver activities, support young people in their development, and contribute to creating a positive and welcoming environment where everyone can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of weekly Cub Scout meetings and activities.
- Help create a fun, safe and inclusive environment for all young people.
- Encourage Cubs to participate, learn new skills and achieve badges and awards.
- Assist with games, practical activities, challenges and outdoor adventures.
- Support camping trips, nights away, visits and special events.
- Build positive relationships with young people, volunteers, parents and carers.
- Follow Scout safety, safeguarding and wellbeing procedures.
- Help ensure activities are suitable for the needs of all participants.
- Share ideas and contribute to developing an exciting and varied programme.
- Work as part of the wider volunteer team to provide the best possible experience for Cub Scouts.

No previous Scouting experience is necessary. Full training, support and guidance will be provided.
