1st Chadsmoor Scout Group

As a Cub Team Leader, you’ll be part of a friendly volunteer team delivering exciting, safe and inclusive activities that help young people learn new skills, make friends and enjoy unforgettable adventures. From outdoor challenges and camping trips to badge work, games and community projects, no two weeks are the same.

What does the role involve?

A Cub Team Leader helps plan, deliver and run a high-quality programme that gives young people the opportunity to develop skills for life. You’ll work alongside other Volunteer Team Members to create fun, engaging and safe experiences where every young person can thrive. You will be responsible for managing your Section Team, alongside the Group Lead Volunteer (GLV)

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver exciting weekly Cub Scout meetings and activities.
  • Help young people work towards badges, awards and personal achievements.
  • Support Cubs in developing confidence, teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Create a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for all young people.
  • Ensure activities are carried out safely and in line with Scout safeguarding and safety requirements.
  • Work with fellow volunteers, parents and carers to provide the best experience for our members.
  • Help organise camps, nights away, visits and adventurous activities.
  • Encourage young people to contribute ideas and take an active role in shaping their programme.
  • Maintain appropriate attendance, administration and communication records where required.
  • Support the growth and development of the Cub section within the Group.

No previous Scouting experience is required. Full training, support and resources will be provided.
